CHARA DASA OF JAIMINI
- This book has been proven to be a very revolutionary book. If placed the facts properly, this book of Dr U K Jha has changed the concept of Jamini astrology, and scholars began to look at the things from different perspectives. The splendid arguments and superbly logical dissertation forced the Jaimini astrologers to revisit their earlier concept.
- The method of computation of Chara Dasa as was earlier prevalent and the one dealt with in here in strict compliance with the injunction of JUS was different, but people gradually accepted it and started following it.
- For the first time the Sutra “Atra Shubhah Ketuh” was interpreted correctly. It was brought to the knowledge of scholars that this is not a loosely hanging sutra but is an instruction for calculating the Chara Dasa.
- Similarly, the correct meaning and significance of the Sutra “Nathantah Samah Prayen” were brought to the notice of the scholars.
- For the first time the correct calculation of sub-periods as per injunctions was exposed to the academia.
- For the first time again, the significance of the Sutra “Dwiteeyam Bhava Balam Charanavamshē” was dissertated and proved the flaw in the method of computation followed earlier.
- Again, for the first time, the use of a second source of strength of planets was explained to the astrological fraternity. It honed the minds of many stalwarts following the old system.
- In this the astrological method for calculation of Dasa period was adumbrated for the benefit of the students.
- Likewise, the correct calculation of Chara Karaka, Arudha, Karkamsha, Swamsha, and Lagnamsha was explained in this book.
- This is one book that shook the academic astrological world from the bottom.
MANDOOK DASA OF JAIMINI
- This is one of the very popular Dasas of the Jaimini Upadesha Sutra and is extremely efficacious for working out the period of rise and fall of a person during the course of his life.
- The Sutra appertaining to this Dasa is very tricky. Especially for understanding the terms like Aadarsh and Trikoot. Scholars have tumbled in standing, and therefore, they invariably failed in calculating this Dasa correctly.
- For the first time, those terms have been logically explained by Dr U K Jha, and the correct form of this was brought into the domain of lovers of astrology.
- This has three peaks (Trikoota) for the natives born in Chara Lagna, Sthira and Dwiswabhava Lagna. So, it can be a Dasa of 84 yrs, 96 years and 108 years.
- TOA in its review for this Dasa wrote – The Mandook Dasa discussed here is different from the method of computation suggested by commentators and scholars and is quite new for many. Although the author doesn’t claim it as his research, we consider it as findings of articulate and absorbing research of very high order.
- In a letter to the editor in TOA, one very seasoned reader observed, “Undoubtedly, Dr U K Jha has a unique way to reveal the secrets of Vaidik astrology. As far as I understand nobody has deliberated on Mandook Dasa like him.”
- Another reader observed that Mandook Dasa, dealt with by Dr U K Jha, is not only unique in approach but also most logically discussed as per the dictums of Jaimini Upadesha Sutra.
KAAL CHAKRA DASHA
- The Kaal Chakra Dasa system has been allotted maximum space in the Dasa chapter of BPHS after the Vimshottari Dasa system.
- This Dasa is not found in many standard classical texts of astrology, and only a few books, viz., BPHS, JP, PD and JDM, have dealt with this Dasa system.
- It is a very efficacious Dasa system preached to Mother Goddess Parvathi directly by Lord Shiva.
- Its computation is a bit tricky but demands added concentration of the students desirous of learning it. To lessen their problem, a table has been given to make this Dasa more reader-friendly.
- For the first time the confusing esoteric terms like ‘Deha’, ‘Jeeva’, ‘Parmayu’, etc. have been explained in this book in connotation with this Dasa system.
- The KDS written earlier by scholars could not detect and find the inherent flaws. Dr U K Jha, like always, has found and removed it.
GANGADHARA DASHA
- This is a Dasa prevalent in Sadhakas of the Tantrik cult and is not available in any of the available standard astrological texts of the Sanskrit language.
- Dr U K Jha tested this for more than a decade on thousands of horoscopes and found its efficacy amazing. He learnt two types of Dasa – Gangadhar Dasa and Damodar Dasa. The latter is not yet published.
- It was initially told to Dr Jha that Gangadhar Dasa is for Anushthanam in Shukla Paksha (BH) and Damodar Dasa for the Anushthanam in Krishna Paksha (DH).
- However, during the course of testing and verification on large scale for research purposes, it has been found that for timing the events on Natal charts both these Dasa can be applied with very high degree of accuracy.
- The working of this Dasa was published first in SA (Saptarishi Astrology) and later in TOA (Times of Astrology)
- Subsequently, it was taught to the teachers of SCOPE, a very famous and respectful institute of Bangalore where extensive research was carried out and then published in book form. So, it is available in book form in Kannada language also.
DRIG DASA OF JAIMINI
- Many have discussed this Dasa in essay from but Dr U K Jha is the first to bring a complete book on this special Dasa system of Jaimini.
- This is a difficult Dasa, and scholars have invariably failed to grasp it fully. Scholars have mostly followed to understand this Dasa with the details available in Brihad Parasara Hora Shastra (BPHS). But the details followed in BPHS are not in tune with the dictums of Jaimini Upadesha Sutra (JUS).
- In this book Dr U.K. Jha has not only given the procedure of computation but has also explained everything in detail. First time such an attempt has been made by any astrologer.
- Beauty is that the dissertation of Dr Jha is not only extremely intelligent but extremely absorbing too, and it takes the reader to new horizons of intellection and astuteness.
- It demands tremendous patience to understand this Dasa, as extra intellectual muscle is required here. The discussion is hugely technical and hones the mind.
- This is a beautiful and highly efficacious Dasa for timing the events, provided one understands it with ample patience and perseverance.
MUKTASHTAKI DASA
- Muktashtaki is a very special type of Tantrik Dasa with a very high percentage of accuracy rate in timing the events.
- The uniqueness of this Dasa is that it is not only a Rashi-type of Dasa but is also an Ashtaka Varga-based Dasa.
- Beauty is that it has a very unique approach in computation where the Benfic Dots (BD) are used for conversion into signs of the zodiac. This means the benefic dots of Ashtaka Varga are used for working out the Rashi operating at the birth.
- The benefic dots of Dharma Trikona and Kama Trikona are picked up for Dasa computation.
- Another speciality is that here in SAV (Sarvasthaka Varga), a total of 386 points are taken as against the normal trend of taking 337 points in SAV.
- In this book the author Dr U K Jha has appended a separate chapter as a tribute to illustrious C S Patel; popularly known as Ashtaka Varga and Nadi man of Vaidik Astrology.
- Sri Patel’s chart has not only been taken to portrait his life through this Dasa but also contains many glimpses of AVS (Ashtaka Varga System) that pulls attraction of students into AVS from research point of view.
- Another very interesting beauty of this Dasa is that during research time it was found that no substantial difference was noticed in timing the event when SAV was prepared separately from BPHS and BJ. So, too much ado is just for nothing as regards AVS of BPHS and BJ.
UTOPIA AND ANARCHY OF STARS
